West coast historian, photographer, Charles Fawcett has been posting some of his incredible color photo's from various west coast speedways. I've asked him if it's o.k. to share them he said yes. Here is Vern Shaver's midget, Vern of Colorado Springs, sold this Edmunds SESCO Chevy to northern California race car owner Mason Cook, in late 1974. The legendary Duane "Pancho" Carter is driving the car at the 1975 "Turkey Nite Grand Prix" at Speedway 605 in Irwindale, Ca. The only time the Turkey nite race was held at that track. I'm including a photo of Eddie Jackson in the Shaver car, when it was new in 1974 and still in Colorado.
