Walter Lloyd Flint, 86, of Cheyenne, WY passed away peacefully Jan. 31 in his home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Gillette to Ora and Rheba Flint and moved to Cheyenne with his family as a young boy. Lloyd graduated from Cheyenne High in 1946. He served as a mechanic in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948 in Korea.

In 1948, Lloyd married Charlotte Burnside. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last summer. Lloyd owned and operated Flint’s Auto Repair. He started work for the Union Pacific Railroad at age 14 and worked there until his retirement.

Lloyd loved to snowmobile, fish, hunt and spend time at his cabin at Wold Tracks and his winter home in Arizona. His trophy moose is listed in the Boone and Crockett records. He was a member of the Wyoming Auto Racing Club, Wold Tracks, Veterans of Foreign Wars 188 and snowmobile clubs.

He is survived by his daughters, Jeanie (Ed) Sorensen of Brighton, Colo., Joanne (Terry) Sandberg of Albin and Marcy (Marty) Curran of Cheyenne; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte, in August 2013; his parents, Ora and Rheba Flint; and brother, Dale Flint.
